About UsWe are a body of believers committed to worshiping and serving Jesus Christ, and we join with likeminded Christians in spreading the gospel around the world.
Our slogan is more than just a catchy phrase. We hope that it gives you insight into just who we are.
Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds and, at First Baptist Church Monroeville, we desire to do the same. That's why you'll discover here ministries geared to various life stages and needs. That's why we have a place for everyone to study the Scriptures, fellowship together, and minister to others through numerous service opportunities.
We want you to be a part of the blessings of God in the life of our church. We'll bring you updates often on just what's happening at First Baptist and share the stories of how Christ is making a difference in people's lives.
Discover that the Bible is the key to life at First Baptist! the key to Faith
The greatest question facing us in life is... “What are you doing with Jesus?”
The Bible tells us that we will either accept Him as our Lord and Savior or reject Him. Its key to eternal life and heaven is to accept Him by receiving His forgiveness and committing to live our lives for Him daily. First Baptist Monroeville can help you discover this key through...
* Spiritual messages from our pastor that are relevant to your everyday life. * Opportunities to know more about the God who created you through weekly Bible study and discipleship classes focused on topics that impact your life. * Worship that is centered on God by praising Him for who He is and what He does in our lives. the key to Family
God designed marriage and family life for our encouragement and support. None of us are born knowing how to be husbands, wives, or parents, so we need the wisdom and experience of other believers to help us function in these difficult roles. God gives us clear guidance on the issues that all families face. As the key to the family, the Bible shows us how to: * relate to each other * handle conflict * communicate effectively * choose a mate * guide our children * define a purpose for our family * love each other unconditionally * cultivate romance * understand family finances * deal with the past * meet needs * inspire hope the key to Friends
The Lord created us as social beings, therefore we have a need for the companionship of friends in our lives. The members of First Baptist Monroeville are people who have expressed their faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and by so doing, have joined a much larger circle of friends called the ‘church’. We gather together on a regular basis to fellowship with each other, help each other through difficult circumstances, pray for each other, worship together, and just have fun. As the key to friendship, the Bible says that a true friend sticks closer than a brother, and there are times in each of our lives when we need a true friend. We each fall down in our attempts to live this life, but these true friends are there to help us get up and go on again. At First Baptist, we believe that we are all fellow strugglers on the road of life, and when needs arise, we quickly pool our resources to meet them. the key to Fruitful Living
In our search for meaning, we often find ourselves unfulfilled with a need for hope, and at First Baptist Monroeville, we believe that God offers this hope and fulfillment through fruitful living. The Bible tells us that the key to this fruitful life is to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Loving our neighbors means that we invest our lives in them, and First Baptist has a long record of mission work both locally and abroad. Our contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention help provide funds to more than 5300 missionaries around the world and another 5100 missionaries in our own country. Our church also leads groups each year to be involved in mission opportunities in Monroe County, other areas of the United States, and even international locations. We believe that these efforts will impact people’s lives and make a difference in their eternity. You can download our basic beliefs here.
